To escape their territory you need to swim DOWN and BACK. Do NOT swim up, as they will come from below you. No fish was harmed in the filming of this video. This fish was not provoked on purpose. It’s the triggerfish 😅 Story time: I was snorkeling in Okinawa at a beautiful dive site when, about five minutes in, I felt a nibble on my left leg. At first, I thought I’d bumped into something, so I kept swimming and filming a school of fish until this happened. I’ve encountered many triggerfish in the past, but never an angry one like this. 🐟 Triggerfish are super territorial during nesting season and will charge at anyone who gets too close. Most are pretty chill… until you meet an angry one.
