MATracing stolen and lost mobile phones could become easier in future in the State. The Tamil Nadu Cyber Crime Wing along with the Department of Telecommunications shall be using the Central Equipment Identity Register (CEIR) portal to facilitate people report their lost or stolen mobile devices. The portal will help in tracing such devices across pan-India telecom networks.

Know Your Mobile (KYM)
Through KYM, you can check the validity of your mobile device even before buying it. IMEI is written on the mobile packaging box. It could be found on the mobile bill/invoice. From your mobile you can check the IMEI number by dialling *#06#, IMEI number will be shown on mobile screen. If the status of the mobile is shown as Black-listed, duplicate or already in use, please avoid buying the mobile.

TRThe Central Government has introduced a new Central Equipment Identity Register (CEIR) service at ceir.gov.in to report phone thefts. With this new ceir.gov.in portal, now all those people whose mobile is stolen or roamed, can easily register their complaint and this method is very easy, you just have to go online and fill the registration form. And the biggest feature of the portal is that you can block your mobile so that your important data is not stolen
There is also a free Android and iOS app called KYM (know your mobile), which can also offer details on the status of your smartphone. It offers details like the status of the IMEI number, mobile manufacturer name, model number, and device type. All you have to have is the IMEI number (which will be available on the bill, box, and can also be accessed from the phone by dialling *#06#) and a phone number that can receive OTP📱.
How to report a stolen or lost phone on the CEIR website?🤔
💡Right now, CEIR service is available in all 37 states (including union territories). To report a lost or stolen smartphone, one needs details like the mobile number of the SIM cards installed on the phone, the IMEI number, and a mobile purchase invoice.
👮 Similarly, you also need to file a complaint at your nearest police station as the digital copy of the police complaint is also required to block the phone along with the details of the smartphone owner. When you block a smartphone on CEIR’s website, it will be blocklisted on the central database and won’t be able to use it.

संगणक परिचालक हा बहुतांश वेळा त्या गावातीलच असल्याने तो गावात राहूनच नागरिकांना विविध शासकीय व ऑनलाइन सेवा पुरवतो. त्यामुळे संगणक परिचालकाला चांगले उत्पन्न मिळते. ग्रामपंचायतींच्या डिजिटल कामकाजाला बळकटी देण्यासाठी आणि ग्रामीण भागातील नागरिकांना सेवा अधिक सुलभपणे उपलब्ध व्हाव्यात यासाठी संगणक परिचालकांची ही व्यवस्था एक सपोर्टिव्ह सिस्टम म्हणून उभी करण्यात आली आहे.

👉 Pehle jo relaxation diya gaya tha (old stock clearance ke liye), wo 1 April 2026 se withdraw kar diya gaya hai.
👉 Iska matlab:
1 April 2026 ke baad koi bhi CCTV camera jo ERs / STQC norms ko comply nahi karta, uski sale allowed nahi hogi.
