Yes - but don’t oversimplify it. J1407b isn’t just “a planet with the biggest rings.” It’s a candidate, and its rings were never directly imaged. What we actually know: It orbits the star J1407 and In 2007, scientists observed an unusual, complex dimming of the star. The pattern suggests a massive ring system passing in front of it. Scale: Rings ≈ 120 million km wide, Saturn rings ≈ 280,000 km. That’s hundreds of times larger. But we need to understand: This is a model, not a direct observation and the planet itself isn’t fully confirmed, It could even be a forming moon system.

You know the one. That only children are lonely. That they’ll wish for a sibling. That it’s somehow “not enough”. I’d be lying if I said it doesn’t poke at the softest part of me. Because of course I’ve imaged two. Built-in best friends. Shared secrets. Someone to stand beside them long after I’m gone. Then I come back to reality. To the nights I’m already stretched thin. To the mornings that begin before I’ve caught up with yesterday. To the mental load I carry like an invisible backpack I never get to set down. I love being a mum. But I also know my limits. I know how close to the edge I’ve felt sometimes. How heavy the weight can be – emotionally, mentally, financially. How much of myself it already asks. And there’s guilt in admitting that. Guilt that maybe I could push through. Guilt that maybe “good mums” would just cope. Guilt that choosing peace might look like choosing less. But what if it isn’t less? What if giving one child a regulated, present emotionally available mum…is more than giving two a version of me that’s constantly drowning? What is knowing your capacity isn’t selfish – it’s responsible? I don’t know what the future holds. I just know I want to raise my child in a home where love isn’t overshadowed by survival. Any maybe that’s enough. If you’re holding this quiet guilt too…you’re not alone 🤍
