Your internship isn’t a test.
It’s a 6-week audition for trust.
And most interns fail — not because they’re lazy,
but because they do what’s expected, not what’s remembered.
Here’s how I flipped that 👇

✅ 1. I made a “Wins & Lessons” deck — not a resume
→ Every Friday, I sent a short 3-slide update:
Slide 1: What I accomplished
Slide 2: A mistake + what I learned
Slide 3: What I want to try next week
→ It showed growth. Ownership. And got shared up the chain.

✅ 2. I created a feedback form for my manager
→ Asked them to rate me on communication, initiative & problem-solving
→ Added one anonymous question: “What’s one thing I should stop/start doing?”
→ Blew them away. No intern had ever done this.

✅ 3. I showed up outside my domain
→ Joined optional team calls. Took notes.
→ Made a summary and shared with the team.
→ I was “the intern” who cared beyond their own KPIs.

✅ 4. I scheduled a “mini exit interview” 1 week before my internship ended
→ Asked:
“What would make someone like me get a PPO here?”
→ Their answers = insider roadmap to the offer.
