Do you know the name of this huge planet and what it contains? 👇👇👇👇👇👇👇👇👇👇👇👇👇👇👇👇👇👇👇👇👇 You’re looking at the giant of the solar system: Jupiter. Beneath those mesmerizing bands of clouds lies a world of extremes, with storms so massive they could swallow the entire Earth and pressure so intense it turns hydrogen into liquid metal. It’s not just a ball of gas; it’s a protective shield for our home and a system in its own right, with more than 90 moons orbiting it. Have you ever stopped to think about the magnitude of what’s out there? #astronaut #space #nasa #iss #jupiter

The drastic variations in the length of a day across planets in our solar system, challenging the Earth-centric perception of time. Fastest Rotation: Jupiter has the shortest day, taking just under 10 Earth hours to complete a rotation. Slowest Rotation: Venus has an exceptionally slow rotation, with a single day lasting approximately 243 Earth days. Earth Comparison: A day on Earth, specifically a sidereal day, lasts 23 hours and 56 minutes. Mercury’s Pace: Mercury completes a rotation in about 58 Earth days. #science #jupiter #nasa #earth #mercury

You don’t land on Jupiter. You fall. And you keep falling. First, winds hit you at 600 km/h — faster than any hurricane Earth has ever seen. The clouds around you aren’t white and peaceful, they’re ammonia and sulfur, burning and toxic. As you drop deeper, pressure crushes you from every direction — your body compresses like a tin can in a hydraulic press. There’s no surface waiting for you. Just layers getting hotter, denser, darker. Somewhere deep enough, the gas becomes liquid, then metallic hydrogen — a state of matter that doesn’t even exist on Earth. You don’t crash. You dissolve. Jupiter doesn’t kill you once. It kills you in stages. . . #Jupiter #FallingIntoJupiter #WhatIf #SpaceFacts #UniverseGoneWrong CosmicHorror DeepSpace PlanetJupiter SpaceExploration DarkUniverse CosmicFacts

The International Space Station transiting in front of Jupiter, the perfect Alignment! This video shows a lil behind the scenes on capturing The ISS and Jupiter I used the planetary app Stellarium and Google maps in order to calculate the path of the ISS and figure out exactly where I needed to be to capture the alignment. If I was even Just a few dozen feet off, the ISS would have flown either above or below the planet, no transit. Used my 9.25 Celestron telescope attached with a high speed astronomy camera to capture high frame rate video. And from the frames I was able to stack them and get a clearer image of the moment of Transit! #astrophotography #california #Jupiter #iss #Astro

He is built different. 🪐 After decades of observation and simulations, scientists have uncovered something incredible about Jupiter—it acts like a cosmic shield for Earth. With its immense gravity, Jupiter attracts or deflects dangerous asteroids and long-period comets that could otherwise be on a direct collision path with our planet. One of the most powerful examples is Comet Shoemaker–Levy 9, which crashed into Jupiter instead of moving further into the inner solar system. That event proved how Jupiter can literally take the hit and protect the rest of the planets. Jupiter also played a crucial role in shaping the early solar system. Its gravity helped form the asteroid belt, preventing those rocky fragments from forming another planet and reducing chaotic impacts in our region. Some theories even suggest Jupiter influenced the positions of other giant planets, helping create the stable environment needed for life to develop on Earth. However, it’s not a perfect guardian. Sometimes Jupiter’s gravity can redirect objects toward the inner solar system. But overall, studies suggest its presence significantly lowers the number of catastrophic impacts—especially from distant comets. In short, without Jupiter… Earth might not be the safe haven it is today. 🌍✨ Follow @mystfactz DM for credit/removal - #Jupiter #SpaceFacts #SolarSystem #Astronomy

Jupiter The Cosmic Shepherd 🪐 Billions of years ago, a giant took control of chaos. Jupiter doesn’t just orbit the Sun — it commands gravity on a colossal scale. This stunning simulation shows how Jupiter herds asteroids, pulling some into tight families while flinging others far beyond the Solar System. Without this gas giant, Earth’s history could have been far more violent. A planet massive enough to shape destinies. 🪐🌋 You Don’t Understand How Big Jupiter Really Is The largest planet in our Solar System, Jupiter, is so विशाल that it could fit more than 1,300 Earths inside it. That tiny dot often seen crossing its surface is Io—a highly active moon covered in volcanoes that can erupt lava up to hundreds of miles into space. The dark spot nearby is simply Io’s shadow cast on Jupiter’s clouds. This is the scale of our Solar System. Cinematic visuals and audio generated with AI.
