The collection blends Moynat’s signature M Canvas bags with Lung’s powerful, playful creations. This limited pop-up features some unique exclusives for Hong Kong, including limited-edition little suitcases and beautifully embroidered charms. 토끼 캐릭터 ‘라부부(Labubu)’ 작가로 익히 알려져 있죠? 벨기에를 기반으로 활동하는 홍콩 출신 예술가 카싱 룽(Kasing Lung)의 개인전 <Everybody Knows>가 홍콩 랜드마크 아트리움에서 열리고 있습니다.이번 전시의 하이라이트는 총 25점의 신작 회화 작업이 소개된 섹션. ‘라부부’를 비롯해 하나같이 장난기 가득한 괴물 친구들이 관객을 반기네요. 이들의 장난스러운 얼굴 아래 비밀스럽게 감춰진 이야기는 무엇일까요? 레너드 코헨이 부른 동명의 노래에서 영감을 얻어 기획된 전시인 만큼 카싱 룽은 다음과 같이 말합니다. “이번 전시를 통해 제가 전 세계에서 체감하는 모든 다양한 주제를 탐구하고자 했어요. 일견 캐릭터들에선 기쁨, 사랑, 평화 등이 느껴지지만 그 너머 실제 세계에서 일어나는 일과 이를 둘러싼, 점점 커지는 담론을 묘사하고자 했죠.” 이 말을 듣고 보니 귀엽게만 느껴졌던 작품 너머로 비행기, 고층 빌딩, 해골 등의 심상치 않은 도상이 눈에 띄네요. 한편 그간 선보여온 피규어를 비롯한 각종 아트워크를 아카이빙해 꾸린 미로의 방도 시선을 끕니다. 카싱 룽만의 상상력 풍부한 세계는 오는 4월 17일까지 펼쳐지니 주목하시길. @wkorea #editor_전여울 @kasinglung @landmarkhk #KasingLung #EverybodyKnows #Labubu #캐싱룽 #라부부 #랜드마크 #홍콩 #아트바젤홍콩 #wkorea
