🌟Lake Como is not one place — choose your base wisely. Staying in Varenna or Bellagio gives the best experience after day-trippers leave.
🌟Ferries control your entire day. Check schedules the night before, screenshot them, and arrive early in peak season (lines get long).
🌟Hydrofoil = faster but indoor seating only. Regular ferry = slower but panoramic views (worth it).
🌟Many villas (like Villa del Balbianello) require advance online tickets — they sell out in summer.
🌟Restaurants serve lunch ~12–2 PM and dinner ~7–9 PM. Kitchens close between — plan around Italian dining hours.
🌟Avoid eating right next to ferry docks — walk 2–3 streets uphill for better prices and more authentic food.
🌟Must-try local foods: Risotto with perch (Risotto al Pesce Persico), fresh lake fish, and pistachio or stracciatella gelato from small gelaterias away from the main square — better quality and better price.
🌟Driving is stressful: narrow roads, limited parking, and ZTL restricted zones (automatic fines). Public transport is easier.
🌟Weather changes fast because of the mountains. Even in summer, bring a light jacket for evenings.
🌟Cash is still useful. Some ferries, small cafés, and ticket booths don’t always accept cards.
🌟Don’t miss exploring the tiny alleys of Bellagio (especially Salita Serbelloni).
🌟Shoes matter more than outfits. Lake Como towns are steep with cobblestones and endless stairs (especially in Bellagio). Wear flat, non-slip sneakers or sandals with grip — heels will ruin your day.
🌟Best views without luxury prices: book a terrace table at Ristorante La Punta (Bellagio) or go for a sunset drink instead of full dinner to save money while enjoying the same view.

THWhat an unreal 5 days with @SkiUtah! ⛷️🚡🏂
After landing in Salt Lake, we headed straight to the Ogden Valley and kicked things off with night skiing at @powdermountain, carving around under the lights and easing into vacation mode. After we checked into @compassroselodge —our cozy home base in nearby Huntsville with the perfect mix of charm and ski mountain vibes.
Days 2 and 3 were all about @snowbasinresort. We spent both days chasing soft turns off the John Paul lift, riding the Allen Peak Tram into big, steep terrain, and finding fresh pockets that kept us grinning nonstop. Just powder, pitches, and those massive views that make Snowbasin feel like its own world.
Day 4 delivered the dream: a full-on bluebird powder day back at @powdermountain. Fresh snow, steep chutes and that endless terrain feeling made it the perfect finale to our time in the Wasatch Mountains.
On our last morning, we slowed things down and explored Downtown Ogden—coffee, the @visitogden winter market, and one last wander down 25th street before heading to the airport.
