ROBit late for a new years post, but who cares.. This fish was on my last throw for 2025.. We had already had a decent afternoon session with a few bites, and i decided to throw one last mullet over the lip before heading back to the farm and the rest of the family to see in the new year. It didnt lie too long before this fish came along. It was a proper athlete too, and even on the heavy tackle she made me work for every meter of line. The sea was flat, and we had a big hole to the right of where we were throwing over a bank. I took a bit of time and pulling at angles to get her to come off the back of the lip and into the hole where we could land her easily and not have to pull her a long way over a bank to get to shallow enough water to safely remove the hook. @liam_graham02 got a hold of her tail in the shallows, the barbless hook popped out easily, a few pics, and @ori_tagging_project number plate and she was swimming off into the sunset none the worse for the experience. On that note, we packed up and headed back up the hill for a braai with the family. We even made it to 3min past midnight before going to bed. 📷 @amylynkyle . CAIt’s been a wild week chasing down so many schools of fish. Some loved the lures, and others completely ignored everything we threw at them…But such is fishing…There have been some big Dorado making appearances here and there to taunt us..also huge schools of smaller Roosters, jacks, and Sierra.
