LEHere’s the exact system to reach B2 in a new language.
1️⃣ Begin with the writing system, but keep it manageable
A new script/alphabets can feel overwhelming, but you don’t need to master it all at once. Instead, start with the 10–20 most common characters.
Why this works: once you begin spotting those characters on signs, menus, or social media, your brain recognizes them instantly. Those small moments of recognition create motivation and reinforce learning naturally.
Learning to read and write early also improves pronunciation, tones, and overall comprehension, even if speaking is your main goal.
2️⃣ Prioritize high-frequency situations and vocabulary
Rather than studying random topics, focus on real situations you’ll encounter most often,for example greetings, ordering food, asking for directions, shopping, or everyday small talk.
Once you’re comfortable with these scenarios, you’ll already be able to handle many real conversations.
Then concentrate on high-frequency vocabulary. Studies show that the most common 1,000–2,000 words cover roughly 80% of everyday speech, especially in casual conversation. The goal is to study strategically, not just study more.
3️⃣ Use one strong foundational course
Choose a single structured course to serve as your main learning framework. Look for something with clear explanations, quality audio, and a large number of lessons.
