LEWhen determining if building materials can be dried and saved or if they should be replaced, we look at a few factors. 1) Is there contamination? 2) Is there damage? 3) The cost to dry and clean versus the cost to replace.
Carpet pad can be saved if it’s been affected by water damage if it is Category 1 water, there isn’t damage to it, and if it’s cost effective to dry it rather than replace it.
Carpet pad is relatively cheap so it is often replaced instead of dried, and in the Flood House students learn how to dry different materials and different techniques such as in place drying!
