JOAs of today, I’ve been living this spinal cord injury lifestyle from a snowboarding accident for 7 years. This injury is not easy. I have to fight mentally and physically every single day. BUT, it’s definitely easier with my support crew behind me and for that I am forever grateful.
Today, I look back at that girl from year 1 and I barely recognize her. I am finally able to enjoy Christmas festivities while honoring one of the worst moments of my life. I am proud of how far I’ve come and the life I’ve built for myself. And like I say every year I’M NOT DONE YET. If you are going through it this season for any reason, my heart goes out to you💕 hang in there! It will get better❤️🩹

JBTomorrow marks twenty years since one book ended and luckily I was given a sequel. I literally wrote this little song in ten minutes, ten minutes ago unexpectedly as I was writing a poem for a meaningful caption. It sounded more like a song so just thought I’d see how it sounded. I love the pure, rawness to it so here you go. I was tempted to re-film tomorrow when my hair is washed, when I’m wearing makeup, when I’ve sang it more than twice but who actually cares. I’m grateful for life & although it’s hard AF I’ll ride this rodeo for that fifteen year old girl who could handle it all for another twenty years and beyond💖
