Here’s the deal - MOST locations of these are dog friendly, so it’s important to call ahead before you’re reserving, but here are some of our go to quality hotels to book on a budget.
— @laquintahotels some locations have a pet fee of $25 per night with a max of $75 per stay. Complimentary breakfast included. Ertz has been allowed to eat breakfast with us, as long as he doesn’t enter the kitchen buffet area (so either tethered to common seating area or with a friend). Max of 2 pets per visit without breed restrictions. 75lb weight limit.
@embassysuites most locations are pet friendly. 75lb weight limit with fees around $25 a night. No breed restrictions noted. Same rules for complimentary breakfast.
@hyattplace - most locations dog friendly. $75 for total visit that doesn’t exceed more than 6 nights. No breed restrictions noted. Two pets allowed weighing 50lbs or less. Same rules noted for complimentary breakfast.

Some things to consider
- Call the hotel ahead for their specific policies and pet fees. Put your pet on your reservation as some locations only have certain rooms to designate for pets
- Note any policy on rules regarding leaving your pup in a hotel room. If you are allowed and do leave your pup alone in the room, make sure they are settled, not loud, and not destructive
- Do not fake a service animal to get out of pet fees - Only bring your dog if they are neutral/friendly to other people, sounds, and animals. Hotels have the right to remove pets and not refund you for any aggressive behavior noted in your pets. If reactivity is an issue, @airbnb may have better locations for vacationing with your pup.

THAfter a fun day of traveling, we love having a nice place to relax and unwind. Thankfully, that’s exactly what we get when we book a room at @microtelbywyndham
The rooms are exactly as they appear online and are loaded with amenities, like that great window seat which is perfect for cozying up with your favorite book. Of course, Marty is all about the mini-fridge and the multiple plugs in the room. He’s in heaven when he can charge all of our devices at once!
With other on-site amenities like a pool and workout room, you might not want to leave!

THWould you stay at a capsule hotel while in Japan?
I booked a night at Booth Capsule Hotel in Shinjuku. It’s located in the heart of Shinjuku with a karaoke club and restaurant attached. The capsule common areas were clean and well stocked. This capsule hotel included a manga library, a 24 hour free drink station and Internet cafe. The capsule rooms were just enough room for my height (5’8). I would not recommend this place if you are a woman and taller because you will not be able to fully stretch in the capsule space. To shower, it was extra. It cost 200 yen (about $1)for 30 minutes. This hotel was similar to a hostel but clean and quiet. Japanese people tend to be silent in public shared spaces.
I think this hotel is perfect for travelers staying one night (or during the day) with minimal amount of luggage. Thankfully, I used Japan’s luggage delivery service to send my luggage to my next hotel straight from the airport.

We stayed in one of the smallest Disney rooms at @waltdisneyworld. Unfortunately, families can’t fit here, but it’s great for singles and couples! Just check out that Skyliner view. In case you’re wondering, it’s Murphy bed style. Lastly, this resort had extra travel amenities like a foot scrub and aloe vera in the room. It was nice to have!
