Now that we have seen how to prep for modak making today I am do excited to share this modak hack with you guys
Not everyone can fold the modak the ideal way, nothing wrong Bappa likes modaks in all shapes and forms and traditional way comes with practice and patience and passion.
No worries this hack with tell you how to perfectly get those pleats in few seconds.

TIPS:
✅ You can use match stick, Chopstick or skewer for this technique.
✅ I prefer skewer for nice long and thin pleats.
✅ Press gently making sure filling does not comes out.
✅ Always cover the ready modak with damp cloth until steaming.
✅ If making ahead of time put them in air tight container.
✅ Steam for 12-15 mins on stove top method or 15 mins in an Instant pot.
✅ I like to cover the steam basket with foil if you using Instant pot method, so that so steam water does not spill over modaks.
✅ Always rest for additional 10 mins after steaming before serving.
✅ Serve with generous amount of ghee and few Saffron strands for beautiful orange and white hue.

MATry this easy and quick Mawa Modak Recipe this Ganesh Chaturthi 😍.
Save the reel to try it later.
1. Heat a nonstick pan or kadhai and add 1/2 cup milk, 1/4 cup ghee, 2 cup milk powder and cook on low flame stirring continuously. Soak saffron strands in hot milk for 10 mins and add that too and cook.
2. Add 1/3 cup sugar, 1/2 tsp elaichi powder and cook on low flame until in thickens. Transfer to a plate and let it cool.
3. Grease Modak moulds with ghee and shape the mawa mixture into modaks. Garnish with soaked saffron strands and silver leaf. Let it cool for 2hrs before serving.
Stays fresh upto 1 week in fridge .
