Multi-sensory learning supports early literacy development. When children see, say, and touch the word, they activate multiple areas of the brain - making learning deeper and more lasting. 📖✨ #ArtecAcademy #EarlyLiteracy #MultisensoryLearning #PreschoolEducation #ScienceOfReading

So many parents struggle with this — kids losing interest, getting distracted, or forgetting what they just learned from worksheets or screens. But when learning happens through play, their hands are busy, their minds are curious, and the learning stays. Play builds understanding, confidence, and a genuine love for learning. It turns everyday moments and simple toys into powerful learning tools. That’s why we choose play-based learning at home — simple activities, screen-free moments, and learning that feels joyful. Because when learning feels like play, they don’t just learn… they remember. ✨ Save this for easy, playful learning ideas 🤍 #learningthroughplay #playbasedlearning #kidslearning #toddlerlearning #preschoolactivities

If you think your kid couldn’t handle sensory play… this is for you! 1. Start small. A tiny tray or bowl is less overwhelming (for both of you) than a big bin. 2. Model first. This is the most important!! Show how to scoop, pour, or explore gently before handing it over. 3. Keep it short. Two minutes of focused play to start is still a win and it’s easier to focus on supervising carefully for a short time. 4. Expect a bit of a mess. Set up in a spot that can handle it (table cloth, sheet, outdoors). 5. Have realistic expectations. If they dump it, that’s still learning. Hello cause and effect! Just model other types of play so they don’t think that’s the goal. 6. Repeat, repeat, repeat. The more chances they get, the more control they learn.

We love how @learnwithkidscrafts makes learning fun! This game teaches CVC words by: 1. Starting with individual sounds: Teach each consonant and vowel sound separately. 2. Blending sounds: Show how to blend sounds together to form words thru techniques like successive blending 3. Use multisensory activities: Incorporate games, puzzles, and manipulatives to engage different learning styles. 4. Practice regularly: Provide ample opportunities for practice through activities like word building, reading, and writing. 5. Reinforce with repetition: Repeat the process with various CVC words to reinforce learning. #earlyreaders #simpleactivities #classroomactivities #earlyliteracy #learningtoread #cvc #scienceofreading #iteach #wordgames #homeschoolmom

This is actually a multisensory integration activity — it gives controlled proprioceptive, tactile, and vestibular input to the body and hands. Here’s how each element helps 👇 🟢 1. Proprioceptive Compression through the Upper Limbs When the child bears weight on the ball (especially during a plank), → the shoulder, elbow, wrist, and finger joints receive deep pressure input. This: • Activates muscle spindles and joint receptors, • Sends strong signals to the somatosensory cortex, • Helps the brain map body position clearly. 🟣 2. Vibratory Input to the Hands The vibration plate stimulates mechanoreceptors in the skin and muscles (especially Pacinian corpuscles). This: • Gives high-frequency tactile input to the sensory cortex, • Increases cortical arousal and sensory registration, • “Feeds” the tactile system in a rich, organized way. 🔵 3. Core Activation + Vestibular Regulation Balancing on the ball during plank posture activates the core and postural muscles, requiring: • Midline stability • Bilateral coordination • Controlled movement This stabilizes the vestibular-proprioceptive loop, improving overall body organization and reducing erratic movements. 🟠 4. Simultaneous Bilateral Integration Both hands are engaged together on the plate — This encourages the two hemispheres of the brain to work in sync. Since many self-stimulatory behaviors are asymmetric and repetitive, symmetrical, purposeful use of both hands helps rewire sensory-motor control. 🔴 5. Replacement Through Purposeful Sensory Input Instead of trying to stop flapping directly, this activity replaces it with a more organized and functional source of sensory feedback. The vibration + proprioception combo offers the same kind of stimulation the child’s brain was seeking through flapping — but in a structured, regulating, and body-organizing way. . . . . . . .
