JA"Technology is an enabler that uses creative expertise to leverage downtime and accelerate fixes." That was my line that nailed it for the winning trophy at my first debate in my MBA inter-collegiate fest "whether or not technology would replace creativity"
It was the mid nineties when Java, C# and .NET Frameworks were emerging. Attractive UI designs were challenging the black and white screen prompt coders to spiral quickly into the colorful UIs for web based click solutions.
By some action of fate I moved into coding thereafter with Java for IBM platforms with WAS and DB2 for mainframes and then into tech training and landed at Reliance( then the Infocomm group) working on mobile applications, in early 2000, which again was the times of the next tech-shift from table top and laptop screens to hand held screens.
Every decade followed by a new "tech enabler " like the next one was the Social Media Boom resulting in content oriented
apps, their integration and cross postings for visibility and relevance.
By 2010 I had moved into the media and entertainment industry and was using various production enabler softwares in filmmaking and music.
COVID times had posed new challenges of using online remote collaborative solutions in all areas and thereby creating a huge amount of data getting exchanged at great speeds from across the globe.
With advancements in data collection, storage and interpretation solutions, Artificial Intelligence also moved swiftly from pattern based RNN models to Transformer based Generative models advancing to tools like GPTs, Gemini and Midjourney for multimodal capabilities and moving into proactive and autonomous agentic AI.
While the tech labs were having a ball discovering new scientific processes for data management, all these key shift phases were first received with denial, scepticism, criticism, and on top of all "FEAR" by the veterans.
What really is required is to create platforms for open dialogue between end users and tech solution providers to allay fears, identify problem scenarios and training support to upskill and rather than stay left out.
I have come a long way in understanding and integrating tech

SIAmazing events, wonderful discussions and very nice people.
For today, I attended 2 conferences and hall 3-4-5.
Had amazing conversations with IBM and AVM dr. Devesh Vatsa regarding quantum computers. Also discussed quantum computers with google and they told me that Google is already preparing itself to be safe from “quantum cyber attacks”.
Also met the minister of state for Rural Development and Communications Dr. Chandra Sekhar Pemmasani. In the conference, a lot of high ranking army and airforce officials shed light on how India is moving forward towards Generative AI. One very good insight I got was, “there are a lot of ideas and a lot of challenges but with the amount of money and resources invested in AI globally, failure is not an option.”
I reached at around 8-8:15 am and left at 12. The event was very well managed and the early crowd was very intellectual. For those complaining about the events and management, while leaving, I saw a lot of crowd enter (mostly students) and they had no idea about anything, just there for fun or to see dancing robots.
IMO managing such summits is not an easy task and this time, we did a good job and we should not blindly criticise the management.
Will be attending tomorrow too!
