NUA video from Kushtia Medical College Hospital has gone viral on social media, showing a doctor playing a mobile game while a patient waits beside her. The doctor, identified as Shamrin Sultana Trina, appears fully engaged in the game despite being on duty. The clip sparked widespread criticism on Tuesday (December 9), with patients and attendants expressing frustration over what they described as unacceptable negligence in a government hospital.
Several patients, speaking anonymously, said such behaviour creates fear and distrust, especially when critical decisions depend on medical professionals. Hospital director Anarul Kabir said the matter has been formally addressed, stating that playing mobile games during duty is “in no way acceptable.” He confirmed that the doctor has been served an official explanation notice and that necessary actions will be taken. Attempts to reach Dr. Trina on her phone went unanswered.
