12 days in Puglia: Day 6 Itinerary The day started with another delicious breakfast in the hotel’s courtyard. We then had a wander around Lecce and stopped off to try a Caffe Leccesse, which is a traditional local drink of espresso and almond syrup. Our next stop of the day was Torre Sant’Andrea, a collection of limestone cliffs with beautiful turquoise waters and cliff jumping. Be warned it can get choppy which impacts where you can enter the water. We were then planning to head to Grotta della Poesia but apparently they now charge an entry fee and you aren’t allowed to swim, so we decided to skip it. Instead, we headed to Otranto, a beautiful coastal town about 20 minutes away. We headed straight into the old town and enjoyed lunch at Borghi d’Otranto before spending a couple of hours at Spiaggia Bastioni. We started the evening with aperitivo at the hotel’s wine bar, Radino, and then had a wander around Lecce. We then had dinner at 400 Gradi which was incredible - highly recommend if you’re in Lecce.
