Google Chrome has recently shifted its extension support from the Manifest V2 framework to the new Manifest V3 framework. This change will affect popular adblockers like uBlock Origin.
Under Manifest V3, extensions like uBlock Origin can no longer use remotely hosted code, as Google has cited security concerns with executing unreviewed code in extensions. The new policy requires that all JavaScript executed by an extension must be included within its package.
