IAVoluntary suffering is the path of self-made kings.
This is one of my favorite verses from The Bible — Hebrews 12:6-8
“Do not make light of the Lord’s discipline,
and do not lose heart when he rebukes you,
because the Lord disciplines the one he loves,
and he chastens everyone he accepts as his son.
Endure hardship as discipline; God is treating you as his children. For what children are not disciplined by their father? If you are not disciplined — and everyone undergoes discipline — then you are not legitimate, not true sons and daughters at all.”
Accept the discipline. Trust the process. 🙏

_RSuffering is guaranteed. Pain is guaranteed. Anxiety is guaranteed.
I used to try to run from these things. I thought they were bad. That caused more problems in my life.
eventually I stopped trying to avoid them. I stopped labelling them as bad, and started calling them unpleasant.
Working out can be unpleasant. Working can be unpleasant. Healthy relationships can be unpleasant. These things are good.
When I stopped running from displeasure (things that are unpleasant), my life got a lot better. I still have pain, anxiety, struggle, and suffering, but I don’t feel bad about having it. That makes it quite a bit more manageable.
Unpleasant things are just a fact of life. The only time you have no displeasure is when you’re dead.
And we’ll all have plenty of time to be dead. I reckon it’s best to enjoy the suffering while we have it.
