Econophysics & QUANTUM FINANCE Today I’ve watched yt video by Nikitas Stamatopoulos, Vice President for Quantitative Research/Quantum Computing at JPMorgan Chase & Co. 🔻JPMorgan Chase spends more than $11B a year to be at the forefront of technological innovation. 🔻IBM Q Network members since late 2017. 🔻Established Quantum Working Group including full time quantum computing researchers. 🔻Identifying promising use cases, develop prototypes and understand the potential impact of the field on their business. Here in the video I mention how the intersection between Physics (and math) and Economics created Econophysics and give you examples of approaches widely used in finance. 1. Stochastic calculus (borrowed from Physics), main equation: Black-Scholes equation 2-5. Monte-Carlo, Time series analysis, Optimization algorithms Quantum Finance is offering speed ups and leverage in comparison to some classical algorithms. Still emerging area but already with proven advantages. I will explore this direction too to find quantum advantage.
