In the end I believe it's all about habits. If you build habits to write cleaner code, you will never end up with this problem. You might cut corners in your code architecture to meet deadlines. But you should never cut corners on your code style. 😉
👉 Use Descriptive Naming Conventions
Make it a habit to always give a variable a name to what it literally does. If it does too many, split them up. 😉
👉 Write Modular Code
Make a habit to think like a library, make a lot of small utility functions and reuse them wherever needed. Makes you even faster. 😉
👉 Limit Nested Loops and Conditionals
Deep nesting can make code hard to read and maintain. Refactor complex conditions into helper functions.
Being a never nester is always beneficial for everyone. 😉
👉 Avoid Premature Optimization
Focus on writing correct and readable code first. Optimize for performance only when there's a proven need, such as when profiling shows bottlenecks.
👉 Comment Wisely
Write comments that explain why the code does something, not what it does. Avoid redundant comments.
Make a habit to write down your thought process so everyone can understand why you might cut corners. 😉
