GRArtistic collaboration can get messy. Everyone has a different perspective. Everyone has their opinion. But then it clicks, and it becomes something excellent.
Graded recently hosted SAAC Fine Arts for the first time, bringing together student artists from international schools across South America for three days of creativity, collaboration, and hard work across the disciplines of music, visual arts, film, and drama.
Months of preparation lead up to their arrival on campus: practicing pieces, learning lines, creating artwork, and writing scripts. Then they arrive on site with just three days to navigate the collaborative process and pull it all into one cohesive performance, screening, or exhibit.
Along the way, they learn from the teachers and experts of the participating schools and build friendships that extend beyond the festival.

ROCreemos que poner pictogramas es hacer el aula accesible… y no es así.
Un pictograma sin contexto no significa nada.
Muchos alumnos no fallan en la comprensión: fallamos nosotros en cómo enseñamos esos apoyos.
Y ojo: obedecer no es comprender.
La clave está en enseñar el uso real del lenguaje, dar contexto y permitir que el alumnado pueda expresarse de verdad.

AURecientemente grabé un podcast con mi querida Josefina de @acercaar en la que hablamos de los SAAC: Sistemas de aumentativos y alternativos de comunicación y aprendí de muchísimos mitos asociados al hecho de usar un sistema de comunicación o no. Pareciera que solamente es necesario cuando no hay lenguaje oral, y nada más lejos de la realidad.
No os voy a contar más pero la próxima semana, vais a escuchar un episodio MARAVILLOSO 😍
