Well firstly the video is made from a picture and secondly ….
That isn’t me. The picture was me, but the video the face you see, the face you see of my child, that is not real at all. I was playing around this afternoon with the new @meta.ai and gave it a photo to make a video and to be honest this has really shocked me. It looks so real, so believable but that’s the thing about this world now you have to remember not to believe everything you see. But for me mostly it’s a message not to judge others when you don’t really know what goes on behind closed doors. We can all fake being happy from behind a screen, or a perfect life or as per this video anything we want to be. I hope you know that the whole point of this platform for me is to be as real as I possibly can be for you.

DAShamrock Shake Pie
If you love shamrock shakes you’re absolutely going to love this pie. First off it tastes just like a McDonald’s shamrock shake and secondly it’s super simple to make. This is the dessert you need for the month of March ☘️
1 graham cracker or shortbread pie crust
2 packages vanilla pudding
2 c milk
1 8 oz container cool whip
1/2 teaspoon peppermint extract
16 drops of green food coloring
Whisk the pudding with the milk until well combined. Fold in the cool whip. Add the peppermint extract and food coloring continue stirring until incorporated. Pour into the pie shell and refrigerate overnight.

Secondly, I hear the intent behind this comment. It’s nice of people to recognize the hard parts of our jobs and commend us for it. But I think that a lot of the aversion to working in special ed or health care is actually an aversion to disability. Our culture does its best to hide and erase disability. Most of us weren’t brought up in a world that thinks of disabled people as anything more than “tragic” or “inspirational”. Disabled people aren’t often portrayed or talked about with the full scope of their humanity.
Yes, disability can be sad. It can be really hard to know that a kid has the deck stacked against them and that all we can do is our best. But most of the time? It’s pretty neutral. They’re literally just kids! They have unique skill sets that require unique support and we’re here to provide that!
So no, I’m not a saint for working with disabled kids. Some days I have the best job ever and some days these kids work my last nerve 🫠 but I love it and I wouldn’t trade it for anything 🤍
