When I learned side flip I learned it without mats, I just practiced shoulder rolls, then skipped to the step of shoulder rolling over a friends back, then jumped so high that I didn’t touch their back. I definitely suggest using blocks, mats, and a gym facility. But if you don’t have access to that, it’s still possible to learn 👍
