If that sounds like a win, you can totally do nothing and roll with the new time. Just keep in mind - they might not be as ready for bed at the usual time that night!
💡 Top tips for a smooth transition:
✅ Do nothing – If your little one is naturally up at the crack of dawn, this might be the easiest (and least confusing) option!
⏳ Split the difference – The night before, shift bedtime just half an hour earlier. This small tweak can help ease them into the change.
📆 Adjust gradually – If your baby thrives on routine, start shifting their bedtime, naps, and meals by 15 minutes each day leading up to the clock change.
⏳ Helping their body clock adjust:
☀️ Get outside for plenty of fresh air & natural light.
🍽 Shift mealtimes to match the new schedule.
🌙 Use blackout blinds if early morning light wakes them.
📱 Reduce screens & light in your home before bed to support melatonin production.
🛁 Keep bedtime routines predictable & relaxing.
Remember they might not be ready for bed on time the next night so you a bit of wiggle room might be needed.

THDaylight Saving Time was first adopted during World War I to save energy. Later many businesses supported it because more daylight in the evening meant people shopped and played outside more.
Contrary to popular belief, farmers historically opposed DST. Why?
• animals don’t follow clocks
• it made farm schedules harder
• it shifted market times
Many farm groups lobbied to repeal it, and Congress actually repealed DST after WWI because of those complaints. But the repeal sent the U.S. into a period of “time chaos” for several decades that wasn’t fully resolved until the Uniform Time Act of 1966, which set the standard we use today.
