TR🚴♂️ Found this gem in hard rubbish years ago – an XL 26er frame, a 🦄 for me! Most parts are reconditioned for maximum bang on a budget.
Here’s the build:
- Frame: XL Shogun Trail Breaker
- Handlebar: VO Seine bar
- Grips: SQ Labs 702
- Front Rack: Hyacinth
- Fork: Surly Disc Trucker
- Drivetrain: Deore 1x10 with a salvaged front chainring
- Saddle: Berthoud leather saddle (rescued from bad mould and dry skin)
- Tyres: 26" Panaracer Gravelking
- Brakes: Deore LX front hydro brake, Avid SD 3 rear rim brake
- Lock: AXA frame lock with chain attachment
- Okuriomo from various bike shops
- SP dynamo to save money during the energy crisis 😂
Blending Dutch bike utility with the fun of a 26er, the design reflects my Dutch heritage. Despite looking like a 6'6" baby giraffe on it, the bike's upright geometry is perfect.
