AK⚾😄 How we teach T-Ballers to field ground balls (without the tears)
Step 1️⃣: No glove. Yep, you heard that right.
We turn it into a game — roll the ball and they run to get in front of it and let it go between their legs.
Why?
Because learning to beat the ball to the spot is the real win 🏆
Step 2️⃣: After a few reps…
🧤 Gloves on!
Now they already know where their body needs to be, so fielding becomes easy (and fun).
Lots of laughs.
Lots of reps.
Big confidence for little ballplayers 💪⚾

BAHuge tip for new T-ball parents ⚾️
Most kids miss because the tee is in the wrong spot.
Set the tee slightly in front of the plate and aligned with their front foot so they learn to make contact out in front, not under their body.
This builds better swing mechanics, more solid contact, and fewer pop-ups.
Perfect for beginner baseball, tee ball drills, and at-home practice.

We do this drill to get him in the habit of fielding the ball out in front (we want to reach out for the ball) & using both hands to secure it and facilitate the transfer!

ARMy Top Favorite Tee Drills ⚾️🥎💥
1️⃣ Extension Swings – Focuses on extending your arms through contact to stay through the ball and prevent rolling over ✋➡️. Helps create better barrel path and clean finishes.
2️⃣ High Tee – Forces you to stay on top and avoid dropping your back shoulder. Great for controlling barrel path and line drives 🎯.
3️⃣ Low Tee – Teaches you to stay down through the zone and adjust to low pitches. Helps with posture and balance 🧘♂️.
4️⃣ Open Stance – Exposes early movement or poor direction. Helps with staying closed, working through the middle, and creating better direction with your hips 🌀.
5️⃣ Step Backs – Builds rhythm, backside load, and timing. Helps you feel your weight transfer and control your forward move ⏳⚙️.
Finish with Regular Swings to bring it all together and feel the improvements ✅.
These drills don’t take long but they make a huge difference if done with purpose. Let me know your favorite one!

The goal was create an easy intro version of mimicking fielding the ball off a small bounce and continuing momentum forward. Hes still getting used to the glove so this allowed him to understand positioning and making the glove an extension of himself.

The racing just added a little element of fun and urgency!
