The dramatic courtroom demonstration occurred during cross-examination of the arresting officer, who had testified that the 15-foot steep embankment behind the crime scene would have been “impossible to climb quickly.” With the court’s permission, Brock - dressed in his usual courtroom attire of dress shoes and slacks - rushed outside to the nearly identical embankment behind the courthouse. Surveillance cameras recorded the 42-year-old attorney scaling the slope in just 27 seconds, directly contradicting the officer’s claims about the physical limitations of the terrain. The jury saw this footage along with timestamped evidence that Brock had left and returned to the courtroom in under three minutes total.
