DRبيمار خانم ٦٠ ساله با شكايت از درد عضلات گردن مراجعه نمودند. در بررسي و معاينه ناحيه گردن لوب سمت چپ تيروييد بسيار دردناك و حضور يك لنف نود با قوام سفت ، دردناك و متحرك حدود ١ سانتي متر لمس شد . براي بررسي بيشتر سونوگرافي درخواست شد با تشخيص تيروييديت به متخصص غدد جهت بررسي بيشتر ارجاع داده شد. نتيجه ي سونوگرافي به نفع تيروييديت بود.
با توجه به شيوع بالاي سرطان هاي تيروييد در معاينات معمول ما دندانپزشكان معاينه تيروييد هرگز نبايد از قلم بيوفتند.

PWA 40-year-old female presents with a slowly enlarging, painless neck swelling for the past 1 year. On examination, there is a bilaterally symmetrical, soft, non-tender thyroid enlargement that moves with deglutition. She has no symptoms of hyper- or hypothyroidism. Thyroid function tests are within normal limits. Ultrasound reveals a diffusely enlarged gland with areas of cystic degeneration. FNAC shows abundant colloids with scanty follicular cells.
