There’s plenty of ways to get a top down shot and sometimes I use different equipment, but all the stuff I use is listed in my Amazon list. My best tip, is to take your time when setting up, try not to get too annoyed. Want to instantly improve your reels? Try these 5 simple shots. Flat lay (top down) Perfect for styling a scene. Great for showing a product, a plan, or simple movement in your workspace in a clean, aesthetic way. Eye level This is your most natural shot. It helps your audience connect with you and makes your content feel more real and less staged. Add a bit of movement to keep it interesting. Point of view This shows what you see. It pulls people into the moment and makes your content feel more immersive. Wide angle This gives context. It shows your space and your setup, which helps tell more of a story in your reel. If your phone has a 0.5 setting, use it for this. Close up (side view) This adds detail and makes your content feel more polished. It’s great for highlighting small actions and moments. You don’t need loads of ideas. You just need a few go to shots that you can mix together. Top tip Batch film these in one go while you’ve got your setup ready. These clips took me about 15 minutes to film. All filmed on my iPhone, attached to a tripod. That’s all you need. These would be perfect for turning into a reel showing a day in the life of your small business, or some behind the scenes. People love this kind of content as it helps them connect to you and your business. Save this so you’ve got it next time you’re filming.
