But skipping them and calling the chaos “intuition” isn’t it either 😅 Women who actually keep their results usually go through the same progression: 👉🏼 Track long enough to understand what food actually contains 👉🏼 Build a few go-to meals and hit protein without overthinking it 👉🏼 Pull back on tracking without everything falling apart 👉🏼 Go back to tracking during transition periods or when working toward a very specific goal If the second you stop tracking your progress stalls or you go back to your previous routines and habits….. you need to keep tracking for a while. Your new habits aren’t built yet if they go away when you stop logging everything. And this probably isn’t for you if you hate structure or refuse tools. 🤷🏻‍♀️ Macros are a tool. Meal prep this meal this week … This lunch bowl keeps me full, keeps my energy up & cravings down. Why? Because it has 30g of protein, veggies and starch. It is a meal for an adult. No more toddler size meals. My meal prep for this bowl: PROTEIN: ground beef I crumbled on the stove in a pan with salt, garlic powder and onion powder. VEGGIE: salad bag, cabbage and lettuce STARCH: boiled creamer potatoes FLAVOR: pickles, Bolthouse ranch dressing & franks hot sauce. FAT: cheddar cheese shredded & fat from beef 96/4 Take 100g of cooked ground beef, 100g cabbage salad, 1 pickle diced up, 100g of boiled@potatoes, 15g shredded cheese, 20g Bolthouse ranch and hot sauce. How do I know my portion sizes? I know my macros, I know how much protein, fat and carbs I should have a day to get me to my goals. Fill form in my bio to get more info on how to get yours. Here’s how I start my day on track to hit my target macros! Tracking macros is the most efficient way to lose fat while maintaining your muscle mass. I don’t always track but whenever my pants feel a little tight, I do. I always tell my clients to follow this simple meal guide: 🍗 Protein should be between 30 and 40g 🍌 Carbs should be between 40 and 60g 🫒 Fat should be between 10 and 20g Even if you don’t track macros consistently throughout the day, if you can hit these targets at each meal, you’ll be pretty close to what your goals should be! I remember feeling so confused and overwhelmed when I began tracking my macros that I didn’t even know how to weigh my food. And I get this question all the time. Plus I’ve promised several of you in my dm’s I would make this video so here it goes!⁣ ⁣ 1. Make sure you have a food scale, a food tracking app (I use chronometer) and patience!⁣ ⁣ 2. Set your plate on the scale and zero out the scale (the scale will always have a zero or “tare” button)⁣ ⁣ 3. Add your first ingredient, see how much it weighs, search for it in your app, input how much it weighs and click add ⁣ ⁣ 4. Zero out the scale before adding your next ingredient ⁣ ⁣ 5. Repeat this step for all ingredients - try to be as exact as possible with the brand and if the food is cooked or not ⁣ ⁣ It’s extremely tedious but the more you do it, the faster it becomes. You should also be able to save meals you eat frequently, favorite ingredients you use a lot, log recipes and most apps will remember what you’ve imputed before and become predictive which speeds up the process!⁣ ⁣ I don’t see tracking as a way of life but as an amazingly educational tool that teaches portions and can really help you reach your goals faster!⁣ ⁣ ⁣ ⁣ ⁣ ⁣ #trackingmacros #macrotracking #trackingfood #womenover30 #fitover30 #fitat40 #bodyrecomp #bodyrecompisition #fatloss #balancinghormes #highproteindiet #highfiberdiet
