_VThe first NFL call I ever received came just three years ago… at 29 years old… seven years removed from my last college snap. 😳😅
“How does that even happen?” Simple:
GOD‼️ FAITH‼️ PRAYER‼️ BELIEF‼️GOD‼️
After getting hurt my senior year, I wasn’t satisfied ending it there. So I kept showing up. Quietly. Consistently. Behind the scenes.
I’d pull up to the local field, watch Dak Prescott and Russell Wilson on my phone, and mirror their every movement like I was the one in their position under center.
It was lonely and crazy, and felt silly at times. I cried a lot but this child’s game was my relief for me since youth… and God used it to stretch, challenge, and mature my #FAITH
But I must give HIM the credit b/c little did I know that the work I was putting in, unseen & unnoticed, would not be in vain.
Leagues like YCF, TSL, XFL, and USFL would reboot, doors would open, and the dream I thought was dead would COME ALIVE (Ezekiel 37).
I didn’t know if I’d ever reach the destination of playing professionally and certainly not the NFL… So instead of focusing on that lofty destination, I simply decided to embraced THE JOURNEY….. some would even call it “the process.”
But the whole time, God was protecting me, shaping me, and preparing me for this journey, so one day I’ll be able to share this testimony with somebody walking similar journeys.
This is what I mean when I rep #PurposeOverPosition It’s bigger than a title… bigger than your current position… It’s a purpose story that only God could author.
And here’s the truth for every athlete reading this:
You might not always reach the destination you imagined but the real win is the journey of becoming who you were created and destined to be
Keep going. Your unseen reps still count. Keep God first, never give up (Galatians 6:9) and Seek First the Kingdom of God (Matt 6:33) 💯🏈🙏🏽
