J.So why have I chosen to start veiling? ⬇️
It’s… complicated 😅
- My inspiration originally came from 1 Corinthians 11 where Paul addresses the concept and reasons behind head coverings. It was the first time I’d ever been introduced to such a concept and I wanted to look more into it because it’s not something I’d been accustomed to in my Christian walk thus far.
- Diving deeper, I found there are different interpretations of how or if this passage still applies to us today and people get VERY passionate about it. All the arguments one way or another were fairly compelling and I’m still on the fence as to which is the correct understanding.
- That being said, if I believe there is a chance that what Paul commanded applies to us today, I would rather hold true to that than not. And even if it doesn’t, I still think veiling is a beautiful and feminine act that would be beneficial in my walk with God.
- with all this is mind, I do want to clarify that I definitely do not think this is a salvation issue by any means. Nor do I judge women who don’t veil or those who see 1 Corinthians 11 differently than me. And honestly, regardless of what that passage truly means, wearing head coverings in church is a practice that was commonplace for centuries and only became less normal around 100 years ago. It symbolizes submission, reverence, femininity, humility, modesty, respect, and so much more. As someone who struggles with vanity and craves external validation, veiling to me is a great way to keep my desires centred on God and to humble myself before him.

CHSharing some of the reasons why I veil for this Fridays restock. I get asked this question a lot, but the truth is my reasons behind veiling have changed over the years & continue to evolve everyday. There are times where I feel comfortable not veiling and times where I feel like it’s necessary. I veil in ritual, at work, when meeting new people or sometimes when going out.
Veiling & head covering is personal to everyone I’ve met, and offering veils that are consecrated & blessed in the way I have done for my personal veils for years is a dream. Being able to offer enchantments and freely talk about my practice & my veiling is a privilege, and I thank you for supporting me & my shop & journey.
This Friday’s restock will be the last one for October so I have space for a much needed break. You can still support my shop between now & the next restock, I just won’t be releasing anything new or restocking sold out items. I’m excited for planning what’s to come, including a BFV (big fucking veil!) drop for the wintry seasons, new oils, sprays, and more.

- Veiling is a long-standing practice in Church history, especially during Mass for woman

- It is a personal sign of reverence for the Real Presence of Jesus in the Eucharist.

- I felt a calling to veil at mass, and I did it! Simple as that. :)

Lent calls us to stillness, to remember our littleness, our fragile dependence on His mercy. Veiling has become my quiet plea to Mary, to keep me under her mantle, to lead my heart deeper especially into this season.
Before her Son in the Holy Eucharist, may she guide us to live Lent as it was meant: clinging to His love, resting at the foot of the cross, offering our prayers and penance to die to ourselves, and to live for the One who died for us.

I use the term veil twice here- the first time I’m referring to my headscarf. The second is the veil between the world of the dead and the living— or the seperstion between all the dimensions.
Pagans and witches often veil for a variety of reasons that vary from devotional to psychic protection.
Durring the thinning of the veil approaching Samhain/Halloween— I’ve been veiling nearly everyday because I am highly sensitive to these energies and I don’t want it to impact my day or my energy levels too much.
Wearing my veil protects my crown (the area of our body that intercepts psychic energy and downloads) to act as a filter of these energies. It also keeps my crown closed so I can focus on my tasks & makes me less distractable.

TWOh veiling! It’s such a simple and beautiful act of reverence and humility. Instead of it becoming mundane, just out of habit, or even a burden, I’d like to invite the consideration that having children is another reason *to* value veiling.
How? 💭
The act of veiling sets a prayerful disposition within yourself, especially in the season of small children. Let’s be real; it can be stressful and flustering bringing children to mass. It’s just inauthentic to act like it’s always a wonderful, pleasant experience and I won’t pretend like it’s always easy. Some moments are so heartwarming, and others definitely are not. (Couldn’t be us taking out our squirmy or loud kids every Sunday!) Despite how chaotic it sometimes is, wearing a veil I love helps keep the tone set within me that no matter how it’s going, it IS good and holy work to bring children to the Lord’s house. ⛪️🤍
Veiling for holy mass also sets the reminder to your children that you’re in a sacred space and church isn’t just another place to be. We are living in a time where the Real Presence is not believed in or beloved. The simple, humble act of veiling before Jesus in the Blessed Sacrament helps to restore that sense of sanctity and awe. We are both mothers and teachers, especially in our actions. 🙏🏻
Veiling is a rich part of our Catholic tradition. The origins are scriptural and not rooted in false assumptions to be holier than thou, attention seeking, or to put women down. Not only does it honor the Lord most of all, but it also signifies the importance of the role we as women play in God’s design for the creation of life. It’s a physical reminder of the deep dignity and sacred honor we carry as bearers of life. It’s just one of the ways the church upholds and honors women. 🕯️
Veiling is a wonderful, beautiful practice. God bless us for our efforts and may the glory be always His. 🙏🏻✨🤍
