EMيفخر مشروع الغدير للحرف الاماراتية وهو أحد مشاريع الهلال الاحمر الاماراتي بالإعلان عن المشاركة الدولية الاولى في معرض لندن للتصميم خلال الفترة من 21 الى 24 سبتمبر الجاري في الجناح رقم 1A10.
حيث يكرس مشروع الغدير جهوده لتمكين الحرفيات من خلال ممارستهن للحرف التقليدية وتنمية المهارات الحرفية لديهن ، ولأول مرة سيتم اطلاق مجموعة ترحال المكونة من خمسة مقاعد صنعت من حرفة السدو الاماراتية التقليدية، نسجتها 16 حرفية باستخدام مواد مستدامة.
Al Ghadeer Emirati Crafts, a distinguished non-profit organisation committed to empowering women artisans through traditional crafts and skills development, is delighted to announce its international debut at the London Design Fair, located at stand 1A10, as part of the London Design Festival.
Showcasing for the first time outside the United Arab Emirates, Al Ghadeer will unveil the Tirhal ('journey') Collection consisting of five sculptural benches meticulously woven by 16 Bedouin women. These artisans have employed traditional Al Sadu weaving techniques and sustainable materials to craft these unique pieces.

HOMy incredible weavers in Kerala!
There are nearly 200 looms here offering employment to people and low impact artisanal fabrics to the market. These looms use only human power and weaving is a skilled craft. People here are paid a fair salary and because its a cooperative model are part owners of the company.
I would love to see handloom fabrics become more popular and higher value, and these incredible artisans treated like the rockstars they are.
