SO many envelopes to play with!☺️😜 Thank you @i.tear.paper @and_.styles @janet.journals @naturalizzie and @turtledove79 for requesting a tutorial!🥰 Here’s a little tutorial for making handmade envelopes as seen in my #10daysofbitsandpieces2025 challenge journal! You may even recognize some of the envelopes in the video from that journal!🤭 because I found the original video clips an REVAMPED this video from 2 years ago!🫣😬🤫 PATTERN I took an envelope from a card that a friend sent me because I loved the shape of it. To make it sturdier, I adhered it to a recycle piece of light cardboard and then cut it out. In hindsight, I probably would have written top/bottom on the pattern to keep myself straight.☺️ PAPER The size of the envelope will determine the size of paper that you need. I used 12” x 12” paper for these envelopes. I also used a variety of papers to make these envelopes! Different weights, single and double sided and all sorts of colors and patterns! NOTCH Punching the notch is optional. I made these envelopes because I wanted to make books out of them and I knew I had to put the notch in before gluing to give myself some options when decorating the book. GLUE I’m using a 50/50 mixture of Elmer’s and Aileen’s white glue. You usually can get these little bottles in the Dollartree craft section or on Amazon.com (I’m sure these are not the only places☺️). I believe that I have a link to these bottles in my Linktree Amazon shop. I hope I hit all the main points! Comment any questions! Too many good bits and pieces coming out of this challenge not to join in 🎨 ✂️ The prompts from @inky.mia and @hilltop_view_journals have such a lovely, slower pace — I couldn’t resist. This one started with the masking tape I peeled off after painting layered tulips in my sketchbook.
