Play School: Come and Play! has just opened at @acmionline and if you grew up with Play School… this one will hit right in the nostalgia while your little ones explore, sing and play.
Created to celebrate 60 years of Play School, this interactive exhibition lets kids step behind the scenes of Australia’s most loved children’s show. Climb aboard the Rocket Clock, become a presenter or camera operator, sing along to the classic songs and play your way through stories and games inspired by the show.
It’s designed especially for toddlers and preschoolers (2–5 years), with lots of hands-on activities for curious little minds.
💡 Good to know:
✔️ Entry is FREE, but you need to book a session as numbers are limited
✔️ Sessions run every 30 minutes, allow around 30 minutes to explore
✔️ After your session, head next door to The Story of the Moving Image - another free exhibition that’s interactive and fun for kids too
✔️ Bookings open on a 14-day rolling basis, but a few walk-in tickets may be available on the day
Parents will definitely get a kick out of it too. Open wide, come inside…

I think every Australian family has fond memories of Play School.
Here’s mine: when I arrived in Australia I basically didn’t speak English. Watching Play School after school was one way I learnt to speak this foreign language, even though I was technically too old for the TV show’s preschool content.
That’s why I know all the songs, all the characters and the famous props. Because I spent many hours watching, repeating, practising.
And when I had my kids, I took them to see Play School Live and sang them the songs too!
@acmionline’s newest Play School exhibition is delightful for toddlers and preschoolers, but even more so for nostalgic adults!
Learn to make an episode, climb inside the Rocket Clock, become a presenter or camera operator, and look through all the windows!

✅ It’s free but you need to book a session, as it’s a small space they do a good job managing capacity.
✅ Sessions run every 30 minutes and that’s the estimated play time too. We recommend also visiting The Story of The Moving Image exhibition nextdoor, it’s free and very interactive for little kids.
