UNThis short video of a blue jay taking an afternoon bath is my most viral clip of all time. Blue jays are one of prettiest midsize birds that boast a reputation for being bossy and aggressive. They tend to hog all the food from the other birds and are pretty loud with distinctive squawking noise. Sometimes they might even form a mob to attack smaller animals like squirrels or cats to protect themselves and defend their territories.
Watching these birds taking a bath is one of the most entertaining sights you would ever witness. It is so peaceful to see them enjoying and splashing water everywhere. However, it is not always possible for a bird to find fresh, clean water. You can attract many birds in your backyard simply by offering them a drink and a bath. When I first posted this clip, I was really surprised to see the reaction on that video. More than 90% (estimated) responses were about Mordecai, an anthropomorphic Blue jay, from an animated tv series Regular Show. I couldn’t believe how much impact the show had in our popular culture! Incredible!!
