1️⃣ The blue shark has one of the most stunning colorations among sharks: cobalt blue on top and bright white underneath a perfect example of countershading camouflage.
2️⃣ They are among the most migratory sharks in the world: capable of crossing entire oceans and traveling thousands of kilometers each year.
3️⃣ Blue sharks mainly feed on squid, pelagic fish, and occasionally seabirds. Their slender bodies make them fast and incredibly maneuverable.
4️⃣ Despite their appearance, blue sharks are generally shy around humans. However, they are seriously threatened by overfishing, particularly due to the demand for shark fins.

GICurious blue shark comes for a closer look 💙🦈
Between June and October this species visits UK seas and can be seen regularly in the south west around 10-30 miles offshore. They are extremely curious and one of my favourite species to encounter because of that. Would you ever dive with a blue shark? 😁

MEHere is the full speed clip of a blue shark checking me out. You’ll notice it looks like the shark may keep swimming past me but then decides to come right up toward me at the last second.
