GRI always get this question & I don’t know how to answer..🤔
There are Longhorns that are friendly, you can pet them, some people even train them and ride them like a horse. I’m not joking, google saddle cattle or riding steer. There are people who halter break them, show them, they’re super tame.
But then there are others like Sally here… um she prefers to try and unalive us any time we try to work her.
So I guess my final answer is some are nice, some wanna 🔪 you… like any other breed of cattle. 🤷🏼♀️

DAAre cattle cold in the winter?
When cattle have a pile of snow/ice on their back, that is a good sign! It means their body heat is not escaping (think of a roof on a house).
With a full belly of forage, when they are digesting/chewing cud, this keeps them warm as their bodies are working to digest all that food. We want to make sure they have adequate access to feed during severe winter weather, their nutritional requirements increase during this time.
Windbreaks and shelter are extremely important as well, this helps them maintain body heat and not "waste" energy trying to stay warm.
Cattle are made to withstand this weather, and with a little help from us, they will get through it just fine!
