Yeah!! We made it to Subic Bay the Philippines 🇵🇭!! It was a very eventful race.. We were leading the fleet for quite some time after a great start and tactically well played duldrum corridor. Then we got caught in a windhole that literally pushed us back and make us do 360s. We ended up in 10th place when the wind appeared again. I am super proud of @teampowerofseattlesports. We didn’t give up, foughtbour way back to sixth place AND came second in a very fruty and even violent Ocean Sprint. It was a leg of extremes, wind ranging from 0 - 53 knots, from bikini to drysuit and if you like clouds you were in for a treat! Now enjoying a well deserved beer and some rest 🔥

The Clipper 70s are built for durability. We affectionately call them tanks, given the abuse they take (and have taken many times before) in the world’s biggest oceans. They really aren’t built for speed. It’s a rare occasion to see them in the high teens boat speed, rare still in the 20s. At 29.4 kts, riding the surf of a 5-6m wave, this is about as fast as we can go. We added an extra 1.5 kts to our previous record set in the Souther Ocean, during this storm swell with 45kts of wind near Luzon in the Pacific.
