There’s a scam going around festivals that a lot of people don’t know about
People are buying wristbands from resale platforms like StubHub
Here’s where it gets tricky
The seller lets the buyer use the wristband for day one
Then reports it “lost” or “stolen”
The festival deactivates the original wristband
And issues the seller a brand new one
Now the buyer is locked out
And the seller can either keep going or sell it again
This is why some people get in one day… and randomly get denied the next
If you’re going to festivals or events, understand this
Wristbands are always controlled by the original buyer
Not the resale platform
Best ways to protect yourself
Only buy from trusted sources
Register your wristband immediately if possible
Be careful with deals that seem too good
Because once it’s deactivated… there’s usually nothing you can do
