Because for me, swimming has never been “just exercise.” When I’m in the water, I feel grounded. Weightless - in body and in mind. And I miss it deeply when I can’t access a pool. Swimming is one of the most holistic forms of movement we have. Physically, it strengthens muscles, protects joints, improves cardiovascular health and builds endurance - all without harsh impact. The water supports your body while still challenging it. Mentally, it regulates the nervous system. The rhythm of stroke and breath lowers stress, increases endorphins and brings clarity. It’s meditation in motion. Emotionally, it restores confidence. When your body feels supported, you feel capable again. Especially when you’re navigating injury, disability or change. For some, it begins as rehabilitation. For others, it becomes routine. For me?
