THThese 5 dorm items are straight from my daughter. They’re not on every list - but they should be!
1. 🔌 Power Strip - with USB and USB-C ports (45W+ will charge laptops too). Make sure it has a long cord, the longer the better!
2. 💡Secondary Lighting - Dorm overhead lighting is harsh and industrial. Think: lamps, string lights, fairy lights or LED light strips. Go cozy, calming, and make the space feel like home, not a hospital!
3. 🛏️ Mattress topper - this is probably on most dorm checklists…. But have you heard of the cooling gel mattress toppers? Yup - if your kid runs warm, this will help them sleep so much better (and less sweaty)
4. 🧽 8x10 PATTERNED Rug - Dorm floors = cold tile or mystery carpet.
Pro tip: most lists recommend a 5x7, go bigger, tuck it under the bed and pick a pattern to hide stains!
5. Woozoo Fan - if you haven’t heard about this small, but mighty, fan check it out! So great we bought one for home too!
