I’m officially approaching the 2 year mark since I joined CrossFit and it was still the best decision I ever made for my fitness & health. I have never been stronger and fitter in my 25 years of living. ✨🏋️‍♀️ I’m also so excited to finally do my first Open (I was fresh out a knee op last year) 😍 So here’s 10 things I’d tell a brand new CrossFitter who might be too scared to start: 1. Scale everything if you need to. It’s not “cheating.” The workout is the stimulus, not the weight on the bar. Scaling = training smart. 2. You’re not supposed to be good at this yet. Strength, skills, and conditioning take time. Everyone starts somewhere. 3. Classes are for fitness (skills are built outside class). If you want to get better at things like double-unders, pull-ups, or lifting put in 5–10 extra minutes after class. Skills need reps, not just WODs. 4. Consistency beats intensity. Always. Showing up regularly will outperform going hard once in a while. 5. Form first. Ego last. Good movement now means heavier lifts and fewer injuries later. Nail the fundamentals then add the weights 6. Soreness doesn’t equal progress. Feeling destroyed isn’t the goal. Moving better and feeling stronger is. 7. Ask questions. Coaches love when you want to learn & get better You’re not “annoying” - you’re learning and it’s literally their job. 8. Rest days are part of training. Self explanatory really 9. You already belong. You don’t get fit to do CrossFit - CrossFit is how you get fit. 10. Comparison is the thief of joy Focus on your journey and being better than yesterday. #crossfit #beginnercrossfit
