SEND mum Jo Clayton is on a mission to change the law around unauthorised absences and fines – and she’s doing it with a film that’s already made waves in Hollywood script contests.
Her short film @unauthorisedabsencefilm lays bare the brutal reality of school attendance fines for families of neurodivergent children.
Based on years of lived experience, Jo’s script gives voice to the thousands of parents facing court threats and crushing fines – just for protecting their kids with SEND from collapsing under what she calls a ‘broken system.’
Backed by psychologists, lawyers, and education experts, Unauthorised Absence has one goal: to expose the human cost of current attendance policies and fight for real reform.
But there’s a problem...
❌ Short films don’t make money. Jo, and her award-winning producer @natalielaurenw need to raise £28,000 to bring the script to life. They want it to be seen by millions.

My family and I have endured some wild setbacks and challenges in the past year that have left us without a home, but we do have a vision for a new way of life, and we need your help.
We have taken this an opportunity to launch the work we do in the world together (@wearetheartofmiracles) and create a crowdfunder to help us build a sustainable new way of living, sharing the various offerings we have in exchange for your kind donations.
Some of you know me from my voice soaring in the dance charts after having many challenges with uncredited dance hits from a vocal pack I did 7 years ago. Songs like ‘So Much In Love’ - D.O.D and ‘Beleive Me’ - Navos.
Some of you know me from my wild cancer journey and my own music and artistry in the jazz and soul world that became the blueprint for my radical healing process.
What many of you may not know yet is the powerful work I do with my partner as ‘The Art of Miracles’- think of us as creative soul doulas that facilitate powerful transformational processes through crafting bespoke songs, visuals, and spoken word transmissions that become profound healing journeys and birth you fully into your expression. This is the work we hope will carry us out of this challenging time and into a new way of life.

It’s pretty ambitious!!! But. We hope to record EVERY show in our 2026 Scottish Summer tour, invite very special guests onstage with us and make each concert unique. At the end of the summer, we hope to release a recording that has all the best bits from the tour - old songs, brand new material plus regular songs from our set which do not yet exist on a recording. And all from here, live in concert, from Scotland 🏴

HOWe need your help! We’re under attack.
It’s been a stressful few months for HNH. Far right thugs Tommy Robinson and Britain First’s Paul Golding are coming after us.
They’ve made totally unfounded complaints to the police about us. HOPE not hate staff and supporters were recently ambushed by Britain First yobs while we were leafleting during the local elections. Even family members who are not involved in our work are being targeted and threatened.
This is a coordinated campaign of harassment and intimidation, and a blatant attempt to stop us investigating both men and exposing their extreme and illegal activities.

ASWe’ve written a children’s book about a character called Bobble. If anyone is feeling totally helpless right now - Bobble is our way of channeling emotion into creativity and action.
The story of Bobble was written in response to the heartbreaking deaths of a young Kurdish family as they crossed the English Channel. This book exists to penetrate the pain and heartbreak of atrocity and injustice with the simplicity of a child’s voice. Bobble is not political, he is full of empathy and kindness.
