AI is moving fast in customer support. But here’s the problem… Most AI agents are operating without real emotional intelligence. Right now, most companies rely on sentiment analysis. Positive. Neutral. Negative. Helpful? Sure. But it doesn’t tell the full story. Customers don’t just feel “positive” or “negative.” They feel frustrated, confused, anxious, relieved, loyal. And if AI is going to represent your brand, it needs to understand more than keywords and polarity scores. When I analyze customer conversations, I always ask why five times. Because metrics tell us what happened. But they rarely explain why it happened. The future of AI in CX won’t be about more automation. It will be about better understanding people.
