The Laws In DC Need To Catch up With What’s Taking Place!!! Every morning, and every afternoon, there is a pedestrian, scooter whether it’s seated or standing, bicycle or E bike that doesn’t follow the law. Pedestrians walk-through intersections while on their phones never looking around to see what’s taking place. DC Law - Bicyclesbicycles have the right to slow down, but not stop at stop signs now scooters, and e-bikes have followed the new laws that bicycles follow. Problem is at 25-40 mph their brakes are not gonna stop them in time if they go through an intersection in which they don’t see an approaching vehicle and if the driver doesn’t see them BOOM……. who’s fault is it? Under the leadership of Mayor Muriel Bowser, the Mayor’s Office of Racial Equity was established to advance fairness and accountability across DC government. The Office carries forward the REACH Act by embedding racial equity into how policies are designed, budgets are developed, and decisions are made across the District. This milestone serves as both a mirror and a moment of reflection, recognizing progress while reaffirming the work ahead. Over the past five years, the Office has partnered with agencies across the District to integrate equity into policies, programs, and daily operations. Together, this work has led to the Districtwide Racial Equity Action Plan, pay equity advancements, expanded language access, and environmental justice progress, including Ward 8’s first ambient air quality monitor. As we look ahead, the Mayor’s Office of Racial Equity remains committed to strengthening accountability, building lasting infrastructure, and improving outcomes for DC residents. #DCRacialEquity #DCGov #EquityInAction

Signs scribbled with color and decorated with stickers, hearts and bugs read "Vote No" and "Leave DC Alone." The signs were spotted around the Senate Hart Building, where some of the District's youngest students, parents and advocates spent "recess" urging senators to vote against the continuing resolution that would slash D.C.'s budget. The CR would keep the government open for the next six months, but would force D.C. to make an immediate $1 billion cut to its local budget, funded by local tax dollars.
