EMI had to cut a little due to the time, but I was really proud of this one, so I wanted to share it on here. Deconstructing faith brought a lot of anxiety and shame, but I’ve never been happier or a better version of myself than I am now. This is my personal experience and by no means an attack of Christians. Faith is a beautiful thing, but I do not believe that one fits all. To me Christianity was a way of trying to control life by putting it into boxes - rights and wrongs - but I have found such tremendous peace in staying open to all walks of life. I thrive on seeing people find their own unique paths. I no longer see people as someone who I need to convince of my own ideologies. I just see people. I seek to understand them and love them for who they are. GAReligion Builds Fences; God Builds Tents
When God told Israel to move through the wilderness, His tent wasn’t far off or hidden behind a wall.
Numbers 2:17 says it clearly: “The tent of meeting set out in the middle.”
Right there—among the people. Not above them. Not behind them. But with them.
We get it twisted sometimes.
Religion says, “Come up to God.”
But Jesus says, “I’ll come to you.”
If you’ve been burned by church, faith, or empty rules, maybe what you need isn’t more religion—it’s Presence. The kind that meets you right where you are, even in your car, your doubts, or your daily grind.
Try This — 5 Grounded Ways to Rebuild Faith Without Fences:
1. Take Presence Seriously — Before your day starts, take 60 seconds of silence. Breathe. Acknowledge God in the space, not above it.
2. Bring Faith Home — Read one verse aloud in your living room. It re-sacralizes ordinary space.
3. Turn Routine into Worship — Use your commute, dishes, or walk as prayer time. Neuroscience shows repetition reshapes thought patterns; faith can ride those same pathways.
4. Question with Curiosity — Deconstructing faith? That’s holy work. Jesus never feared honest questions.
5. Anchor in Grace — When shame shows up, remind yourself: “God camps with me.” That repetition rewires the brain toward security, not fear.

When you carry something heavy in one hand, carry something equally heavy in the other. You stop lurching. You pull back to center.
It sounds counterintuitive but it works.
This isn’t about counting our blessings. It’s about countering our weights. Acknowledging the things that are hard and challenging, the things that make us angry and exhausted — naming them — and then finding a way to counter them.
It’s not about perfect balance either. She says she doesn’t believe in that anymore.
But if we can find some things every single day that pull us a little bit off the ground, that help us move forward even in slow and small ways — that’s a win right now.
