Disaster Recovery is a strategy that ensures systems can recover quickly after major failures while minimizing data loss and downtime. Instead of reacting after a crash, DevOps teams design recovery processes in advance. Key Concepts in Disaster Recovery 1️⃣ RTO – Recovery Time Objective RTO defines how quickly a system must be restored after a failure. Example: If RTO = 30 minutes, the system must be operational within 30 minutes after an outage. 2️⃣ RPO – Recovery Point Objective RPO defines how much data loss is acceptable.
