It was a great experience flexing our advisory skills to curate this collection for our client’s office. We focused on artists who explore color, texture, and depth through abstraction with works by Donna Huanca, Elizabeth Neel, and Shinpei Kusanagi. Richard Misrach’s #richardmisrach sublime photos of the Bay with the iconic Golden Gate Bridge visible just outside the office windows, perfectly complete the space. 🌉

MELet's take a closer look at Elizabeth Neel's "Once Swaddled Ever so Gently" from WILD | Women Abstractionists on Nature.
Elizabeth Neel's works explore the physical and psychological experience through abstraction. Her pieces often feature swaths of color dripping down a flat, opaque white field. Amid the textured paint, a solid figure emerges, giving the composition a compact yet free, chaotic yet cohesive appearance. Neel collects images and texts, such as animal X-rays, flora, architecture, and interior design, using their structural qualities as the basis for her works.
See it in person--WILD | Women Abstractionists on Nature will be on view until June 22, 2024.
